  1. I usually don’t message people on the internet but I just wanted to say THANK YOU! Your last YouTube video was So Me! I had gastric bypass in 11/13. And I had already started gaining my weight back because I didn’t have my “head” right. As of May 4th I’ve not had any sugar and have went with the Keto way of life. Thank you so much for the videos and inspirational story! It is such a blessing to watch them. Keep on making them girl! Can you send me a link to that book you talked about in your last video! May God richly bless you in all you do! Thanks Terra Goodin 😊

    • Thanks so much for your comment! It sounds as if you’re definitely on the right track. Good for you! The book I mentioned was one by Gary Taubes called Why We Get Fat. It was perfect for me because of the basic science he explained. Best to you!

  2. Glad to find you. Am watching your video where you are telling us how you stayed on the LCHF diet. I really appreciate all of your hard work and your willingness to educate us. I also appreciate how you follow the science.

    Thanks, Kristie

  3. Hi, I just came across, and viewed a few of your videos (now watching Alternative Cooking…). I was blessed to hear your story! Great info! Congratulations to you! I’m hoping to lose a couple of sizes, and have been “Keto” for three months. My results are barely noticeable on scale or otherwise. Was your inches/weight loss s-l-o-w at times? I have approx 30-40 lbs. of fat to lose but mostly go by my clothes. Thank you, Kristie.

    Jane

    • Well thank you!! Measuring results by the scale only can be frustrating. Please take monthly photos so you can compare. Using clothes and a measuring tape helps too. Having said that, you may need to cut carbs lower or you may be consuming hidden carbs which keeps you from losing weight. Try tracking and counting TOTAL carbs, not net.

  4. Hello Kirstie,

Thank you for taking the time to make the blog, video’s, facebook etc. and share it with us. It is a great help. I especially like your video’s. Unfortunately the ALDI in the Netherlands does not have the same brands as the ones in the US and I must order Oat Fiber from the US.

Great that you have your family along as well! I am on weight now but my husband and sons could loose some (and some a lot) as well. Unfortunately they think this way of eating is not ok. Of course I try to sneak in as much Keto-meals in them as possible but they will not do without the bread, pasta, potatoes etc. It is a pity.

I do have a question: I just watched the shortbread video. Do I miss the recipy-link somewhere. I tried to find it on the blog you mentioned and I think it is the cocoa almond shortbread cookies?

Thanks for your help and all your effort is highly appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Wendy
    The Netherlands

    • Sorry for the cookie recipe confusion. Yes, it’s the cocoa almond shortbread link. Enjoy!
Also, I’m sure there are lots of great options in your Aldi’s. You’ll have to teach us!

  5. Hi Katie,
Just stumbled upon your videos and website. THANK YOU. You are one inspiring woman! I am at the beginning of my weight loss journey and doing it with my 15 year old daughter. We are sick and tired of being sick and tired. 🙂 Would it be possible to reformat your recipes so there is a quick printer friendly option? Having to cut and paste into Word is not much fun.

Looking forward to more videos and recipes.

    Best wishes!

    Leslie

    • Thanks for you kind words! You read my mind about the printer friendly recipes. I want to learn how to do that, but I seriously don’t know how!!! I just go at this as I go along. If you have tips, send them along. This is really just a hobby for me as I have a FT job and a family. I’d love to keep learning and make the blog and videos even better!

      • If you create a word document you can insert them in WP. So you create the document and save it as PDF. When are in your post go to add media and select the PDF off your desk top. It should appear as a blue link and when clicked can be printed as a document. If you have any other WP questions please let me know. I build sites as a hobby so I might know the answer. I love your videos and just laughed so hard a Grace, I have a teen too!! I made the fathead dough tonight and it looks likes like a tornado came through here but the dough was really good 😀

  6. Hi Kristie

    I love your videos…

I started my own journey back on July 5th and I’m down about 24lbs…it has been a great ride because I’m feeling satisfied with all the lovely fat consumption.

I’ve recently come across a brand new product that is helping me, it is taken orally, tastes like an orange creamsicle and it puts a dose of therapeutic ketones into the bloodstream helping to keep me in Ketosis…it’s amazing…!!!

I’m just wondering if you’ve ever heard of it or have tried it??

      • hmmm Kristie (your reply does not align with Nancy’s question)…so, I am thinking this is a reply to my recent comment from recipe confusion between ingredients list and narrative. BTW – Delicious outcome (used baking powder)!! Have made the biscuits again since then, and my hubby just loves them so much that now I have to limit frequency in baking them as we could eat them every day 🙂

  7. just found your blog and videos – love! Would love to see a post on things to get at Sams Club and things you order online (with online sources) – extremely helpful to have seen video on shopping at Trader Joes and Aldis. I try to follow keto via specific macros noted in chart at Optimal Ketogenic Living (OKL group on Facebook) so some recipes are too high fat for me but I do love what you have shared. thanks for helping others in this way.

  8. Your skillet chocolate chip video I don’t catch how much gelatin to add — could you please advise— thanks 🙂

  9. OK…so I binge watched most of your videos on YouTube. What caught my ear was when you talked about the science of Keto eating. Backtrack 14 years ago when I first did Adkins with all the girls in the office. Was easy and I lost 33 pounds. I’m 5′ 8″ so at 170# I was very comfortable. I was 50 years old. Met a guy….I was going thru menopause at that time and with him and all my hot flashes it was pretty nice (if you know what I mean :)). Fast forward and we are still together along with my plus 38 pounds. Back in May 2015 I started again. By myself. Tried to get others on board but no luck. Now today I’m down to 174 pounds and I’ve come to the conclusion that this IS my way of life now. I feel great. I’m looking younger. I’ve cut my hair. I know that all the fat bombs I make have really helped me stay on track. I pop a few in my mouth almost daily. Your recipes look fabulous and I’m going to try them all. Good luck on your Keto journey.

    • Absolutely, it must be a way of life. I have to tell you that when I read the words “so I binge” I caught my breath. When it was followed by “…watched your videos…”, I could breathe again! Lol! I really appreciate your comment. Hope you enjoy the recipes and best to you on your own journey!!

  10. Hi Kristie,

Just wanted to say that I love your videos. You won’t believe that when I saw your first video (a while back), I thought “this lady has been skinny all her life, not sure if she knows what going thru this means”. Until about a week ago that I saw your video about your childhood and struggles on this and let me tell you…. #1 You are so pretty (inside and outside) and seriously you look like you have been skinny all your life, you look amazing congratulations on your achievements, #2 You are so inspiring to me and I’m sure to others, …it made me cry 🙁 and #3 I wish you many great things in your life for you and your family. Thanks for taking the time to show and guide others that want to follow your steps.

  11. Hi! I read that you had Gastric Bypass. This is my question, Did you have any problems with the fat in this way of eating? I too had it and I find that high fat upsets my stomach. I get the gurgling of the stomach and then the dreaded “D” word!!! I love watching your videos. I would really like to do this as I too have problems with carbs.

  12. I second all of the above. Love your videos and recipes. I can’t find the recipes with the videos. I think you said it was in the “Description”. Cannot find a description button on YouTube.
I also wanted to ask about noodles. On one of your videos (don’t know which one) you made a remark about noodles: maybe tofu noddles? Whatever it was you said not to buy that. I think you meant use whatever you were using.AND NOW I CANNOT FIND IT. Please, can you figure out what I am asking about and let me know what noodles you use.
Thank you again for your sites and videos.

  13. I found about your YouTube videos once someone posted a recipe of yours. I have been working on eating this way for I think 6 weeks now. I saw the video today about what went wrong and how you found out about this way of eating. It brought tears to my eyes because that has been me. I have struggled with my weight all my life and tried so many things. I had tried protein shakes, and even ate vegan diet for awhile but I wasn’t losing. I must say that I can say that I believe I am starting to feel better. I have only lost 18 pounds but I have lost inches as well. I’m looking forward to learning more about what to do through your emails and your blog and videos. I’m sorry you struggled but I am so glad you made it public because you are helping me. I’m the only one in my house eating this way. My husband isn’t willing yet to give up his bread, potatoes and sugar but he has liked all that I have fixed so far…so hoping down the road he will do what I’m doing. Thank you again.

  14. Hi Kristie, I really enjoy your videos and I am learning so much from you. Thank you! I’ve been slowly stocking my low carb pantry with the products you use. I was wondering if you have an Amazon store or if you have links posted to the products you use?

    Thanks again,
    Kristi

  15. Hi Kristy,
I I have just started this journey, I did try about a year ago when I was first told I was pre diabetic and things was going really well but then I started have a lot of low bs essues so I tryed the Diabetes diet I just gained all the weight back, so I saw your YouTube video and you made it sound so much easier! Thank you,and you are from down south and you cook “right”! It is wonderful. I am having low blood sugar essues again and I don’t know how to fix it, last time I I didn’t eat as much fat as I should have, is that how you control that? Again thank you, have inspired me.

  16. I found something at Sam’s Club recently – “Barlean’s Flax, Chia, Coconut” – it is a blend and I think it might make great muffins with almond flour. Wondering if you have seen this and if you might have suggestions for recipe to try with it. It is also available on Barlean’s website.

  17. Hi Kristie, I love your inspirational story, I have lost 50 lbs over the last 11 months with LCHF and can relate to your journeys. I was wondering, are you still doing the “zero” carb approach? BTW, your husband is a very lucky man.

  18. Hi Kristie,
I’ve been enjoying your YouTube cooking videos. I’ve lost 35lbs so far with keto and usually keep things pretty simple. Occasionally though, I like to have something reminiscent of bread. I made an English muffin recipe that was pretty good but it seemed to need something to make it more chewy. It has almond flour, egg, butter, salt, baking powder and nut butter. You microwave it then slice it in half and toast it. It’s pretty good but what could I use to make them a bit more chewy and dense. Any suggestions? By the way, you are such a beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into sharing your recipes and your keto journey with everyone. I do appreciate you!

  19. Hi Kristie,

I have noticed that you use sucralose along with erythritol and stevia. I have been following a keto diet for about 4 months now and I have lost about 15lbs but it is a lot slower than most. I’m wondering if it the sweeteners I use. I use all three mentioned above. I have found a lot of info on erythritol and stevia but not as much on sucralose. Do you think that one of these could be causing my very slow weight loss? I don’t count the carbs in them in my daily total but I am going to start. Thoughts?? BTW – I have about 20lbs left to lose – so not too much.

BTW, I am subscribed to your channel and I love it and your story!

    Thanks, Tania

  20. Hi Kristie! Quick question… Is there any way to adapt your amazing soul bread recipe to use in a bread machine? Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!
Love your youtube channel!!! Your content is so helpful!

  21. I found you on looking for videos “ALDI” I don’t know about Aldi. They are making it by me so I looked. Your doing videos real good. It’s bad to ask for people to scribe. Just let them scribe if they like it.

I found out that don’t eat any thing with sugar add in food. Can lose pounds then. Can see it in about 2 months. But if you eat just a little sugar it bad it will make more pounds just getting a little sugar add to food. Or even high fructose corn syrup too. It’s like sugar.

Seem like you only get energy from sugar but with it not added to food it takes your body time to use it. But added sugar if you can’t use it fast it my turn to fat.

I will watch more of you videos you make good ones. But I don’t cook.

    Thank you.

  22. Hi Kristie,

I started reducing white foods from my diet last fall and gradually noticed some changes. Then I found a book titled Big Fat Surprise and followed by Internet searches and Keto-Clarity and Cooking Keto with Kristie. Since mid January I have lost 45 pounds; down from 212 and feeling great. Thanks for your contribution.

I made your Soul Bread recipe a couple of days ago. Love it. Now I gave something to hold my butter. But…how do I store the bread? Is it best in the refrigerator or in a ziplock on the counter, or….? It’s just myself eating the bread so it is lasting a while. Your experience would be of help on this.

    Thanks,

  23. I love your videos and your recipes. I am diabetic and finally found someone who understands what it is like to be overweight and willing to change. My siblings are all in their 60’s and 70’s and almost all of us suffer from diabetes. I found your site videos by accident (or divine intervention) and have spent hours watching them. I thank you.

There is only one request: I found this website when the one you mentioned in the video did not work. The links you have in your recipes (Belle’s Biscuits, for example) on your page do not take you to the recipe but to the wrong site. If you have a chance to update those links it would really be a huge help.

Thanks for all you do to make us healthy and happy about it…Santa and I both appreciate you!

  24. Hi Kristie, thank you for sharing your story and all of your recipes. You are a real inspiration and help to so many of us. I will be forever grateful. Good to know that there are so many options and variations that we never have to feel left out or deprived. I have had a problem with my weight since I was a child. January 2016, I finally started eating healthy again. I converted to whole foods first, then went Paleo (removing grains and beans), and a few months ago converted to Paleo Keto (a whole food version of Keto), so I don’t use a lot of processed foods. I decided to go Keto because I felt Paleo was too high carb for me. I’ve lost over 100 lbs. and never felt better. I’m still learning, but love the new lifestyle.

  25. Yiippppeeeee! I’m so happy to have found you Kristie! I feel like I’m coming late to the party, but better late than never! Like others have mentioned, I’ve been binging on your youtube videos and loving get to know you! I feel like we’re coffee buddies! LOL! Wow, were do I begin? You have helped me oh so much. I’ve been LC for about 5 years, orginally lost slowly but about 55 pounds, only to have them gradually come back on again (even though I was not a cheater). So, going to give this a try and I’m grateful to have the satiety again. I wish to thank you profusely for doing this and helping all of we that are out here struggling with so many issues. You’re a huge inspiration and make this journey doable and a joy! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
